BILLING INFORMATION
AROSE eTherapy® would like to make your payment options simple. Please consider the information below in choosing your payment options.
option 1: self-pay
Self-pay offers the greatest confidentiality and freedom in your health care choices. Your information will be kept private and confidential from your health insurance. Some degree of confidentiality is lost when your claims are processed by your insurance company given your records can be passed through multiple hands within that company. Another unfortunate aspect of processing visits through insurance has to do with requests for records, limits on number of sessions and such. Lastly, utilizing insurance means you are given a mental health diagnosis that may be taken into consideration for future situations like the cost of your insurance premiums, life insurance policies, or certain employment opportunities (e.g., law enforcement, military, and government work). These are points to consider as you make your payment choices.
option 2: Out-of-Network Benefits
WHAT TO KNOW UP FRONT:
It’s good to fully understand your coverage. Feel free to use this list of Questions to Ask Insurance.
To better understand how utilizing your insurance benefit impacts your privacy, please read the information under Self-Pay above.
HOW TO FILE OUT-OF-NETWORK BENEFITS:
If you’ve decided to use your out-of-network benefits, you have several options for seeking reimbursement.
DIY: You can file your own claims. Just contact your insurance company to learn how they want you to submit forms (e.g., email, fax, snail mail). AROSE eTherapy® will provide you with receipts of your service in the Sessions Health patient portal that you can send in.
You may also choose to use the app, Reimbursify, which streamlines the reimbursement to a two minute process. Reimbursify will submit and process claims for you for a small fee.
The nice part about using services to submit is that they’re pros and deal with any claims rejections and then resubmissions for you. DIY-ing isn’t tough either. Win-win no matter which you choose!
MISSED APPOINTMENTS / CANCELLATION
Your slot is held just for you. Prior to sessions, preparations are made to provide the best care. Thus, there is a 24 hour cancellation policy. If your fail to honor that courtesy or miss your appointment, the credit card on file will be charged the full session rate. Yikes! Let’s avoid that awkwardness with keeping appointments or cancelling with proper notice. Please note these fees are not eligible for reimbursement through your insurance benefits.
YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO RECEIVE A
“GOOD FAITH ESTIMATE”
EXPLAINING HOW MUCH YOUR MEDICAL CARE WILL COST
Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.
• You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees.
• Make sure your health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your medical service or item. You can also ask your healthcare provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service.
• If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill, unless you’ve agreed to the estimate and terms.
• Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.
For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call 1-800-985-3059.
